English Language Acquisition, also known as English as a Second Language (ESL), helps adult learners gain the basic and more advanced skills needed to function effectively as parents, workers, and citizens in the United States.

Through this program, you鈥檒l achieve competence in reading, writing, speaking and comprehension of the English language.

Teacher-led, interactive, in-person classes
Classes are for non-speakers through advanced levels.
Students develop college and career readiness skills, including technology, civics and workplace skills through reading, writing, listening, and speaking experiences.
Seats are limited and in high demand.
75% attendance is required for continued enrollment.
English level will be assessed at registration.

Success in our program requires time, hard work, and commitment. To support your success, our attendance policy requires that students attend at least 75% of their class meeting hours.

Our ESL program is delivered through hourly instruction. Therefore, regular attendance is defined as arriving on time and participating in the entire class period. Students who are unable to meet this requirement will be dropped from their classes.

Regular attendance will help you in the pursuit of your educational and career goals.

How To Get Started?

Orientation will be held in the Robinson Classroom Building (RCB) Room 340 on the following date(s)/time(s).

Monday, June 15 at 9:00 AM
Tuesday, June 16 at 5:00 PM

No Appointment is necessary. Please arrive 15 minutes early. Orientation will last about 4 hours; you must attend the entire session.

Bring the following required materials to orientation:

Students must bring a current government issued photo ID
Students must bring a Social Security Card or ITIN number
Students under 18 (16 & 17 only) must have completed Minor Paperwork, which can be obtained on the HSE website at (paperwork must be completed and notarized one week prior to Orientation)

El 茅xito en nuestro programa requiere tiempo, trabajo duro y compromiso. Para apoyar su 茅xito, nuestra pol铆tica de asistencia requiere que los estudiantes asistan al menos al 75% de las horas de clase.

Con nuestro programa de ESL es importante que usted est茅 en las clases durante el period complete. Por lo tanto, la asistencia regular se define como llegar a tiempo y participar en todo el per铆odo de clase. Los estudiantes que no puedan cumplir con este requisito ser谩n dados de baja de sus clases.

驴C贸mo empezar?

La sesi贸n de orientaci贸n tendr谩 lugar en el edificio Robinson Classroom Building (RCB), aula 340, en las siguientes fechas y horarios.

Lunes, 15 de junio, a las 9:00
Martes, 16 de junio, a las 17:00

No es necesario concertar cita. Se ruega llegar 15 minutos antes. La sesi贸n informativa durar谩 unas 4 horas; es obligatorio asistir a toda la sesi贸n.

Traiga los siguientes materiales requeridos a la sesi贸n de orientaci贸n:

Los estudiantes deben traer una identificaci贸n oficial vigente con fotograf铆a.
Los estudiantes deben traer su tarjeta del Seguro Social o su n煤mero ITIN.
Los estudiantes menores de 18 a帽os (煤nicamente de 16 y 17 a帽os) deben haber completado la documentaci贸n para menores, la cual puede obtenerse en el sitio web de HSE en (dicha documentaci贸n debe estar completada y notariada una semana antes de la orientaci贸n).
